The combination of travel services offered to you constitutes an organized travel within the meaning of Decree Law 17/2018 of 8 March.
You will therefore benefit from all EU rights applicable to package travel. The 1970 TRAVEL, LDA. and the organizing agency (Tour Operator) considered for this trip will be fully responsible for the correct execution of the overall package.
In addition, as required by law, 1970 TRAVEL, LDA. and service providers have protection to reimburse the payments you have made and, if transport is included in the package travel, ensure your repatriation if you are declared insolvent (s).
Essential rights provided for in Decree-Law No. 17/2018 of 8 March
- Travelers will receive all essential information about their travel package before entering into their contract.
- There is always at least one operator responsible for the correct execution of all travel services included in the contract.
- Travelers have an emergency telephone number or contact point contacts to communicate with the organizer or travel agency.
- Travelers may assign the package to another person on reasonable notice and, if applicable, additional costs.
- The price of the package may only be increased if specific costs increase (eg the price of fuel), if this option is expressly provided for in the contract and in any case up to 20 days prior to the commencement of the package. If the price increase exceeds 8% of the price of the package, the traveler may terminate the contract. If the organizer reserves the right to increase the price, the traveler is entitled to a price reduction if the relevant costs are reduced.
- Travelers can terminate the contract without paying a termination fee and get a full refund of any payments made in the event of a significant change in any of the essential elements of the package, except for the price. If, prior to the commencement of the package journey, the operator responsible for the cancellation of the package, travelers are entitled to reimbursement and, where appropriate, to compensation.
- Travelers may terminate the contract without paying a termination fee prior to the commencement of the package, in exceptional circumstances, for example in the event of serious security issues at the destination that may affect the package.
- In addition, travelers may terminate their contract at any time prior to the commencement of their package travel by paying an appropriate termination fee.
- If, after commencement of the package journey, it is not possible to provide significant elements of the package as agreed, suitable alternatives to the traveler will have to be proposed at no additional cost. The traveler may terminate the package travel contract without paying a termination fee if the services are not performed under the terms of the contract, this lack of conformity considerably affects the performance of the package travel and the organizer does not remedy this lack.
- Travelers are also entitled to a price reduction and / or compensation for damage in the event of non-compliance or incorrect execution of travel services.
- The organizer has to assist if a traveler is in trouble.
- If the organizer or retailer is declared insolvent, payments will be refunded. If the organizer or retailer is declared insolvent after the start of the package travel and if transportation is included in the package travel, the repatriation of travelers is guaranteed.
